4 Tips to
Help You Quit Drinking Beer
Never say we aren't watching out for our junkies'
health...
|
- Avoid doing things
that you associate with drinking, such as smoking, eating,
playing, and being awake.
- Get thrown in jail,
where beer can only be acquired in exchange for painful
sexual favors.
- Move to a Bible Belt
state, where possession of alcohol is illegal!
|
|
- Fill your home with
motivational placards bearing such slogans as, "Drinking
Beer is for Wussies" and "Only A Frickin' Moron Would
Even Think About Drinking Beer."

Jack's
Lager - Jack Russell Brewing Company
|
|
Jack Russell Brewing Company
is situated on a small farm in the Apple Hill region of Northern
California, named for its apple, pear and stone fruit orchards,
and its berry patches and Christmas tree farms. Nestled in the foothills
of the Sierra Nevada mountains, Jack Russell Brewery has their own
grain and hop fields which are harvested and used to brew their
beers. The brewery is modeled after the English "Farm Breweries"
( like a California Estate Winery, except with beer) and they put
out some very tasty British style beers (among others).
Boomer (pictured on the beer
labels), one of the Jack Russell Terrier mascots, can usually be
seen chasing balls in the picnic grounds while you sample their
excellent ales and share tales with locals in the pub-like tasting
room.
Jack's Lager is sort of a Czech
Pilsner style lager but with less carbonation. Light and refreshing
with a mild malt flavor, this beer is made to be savored during
the fresh, crisp springtime weather. (5% alc by vol).

Mojave
Red - Indian Wells Brewing Company
|
|
The brewery sits in the middle
of nowhere, in the midst of California's high desert. Thirsty travelers
visiting the brewery will find a wonderful restaurant and a spacious,
modern brewery complete with an indoor tasting room and gift shop.
All their beers are brewed
in a Canadian "brewhouse" from Newlands, a 25-barrel system that
has the ability to brew 150 kegs in a typical brew cycle of 24 hours.
Master Brewer Curtis Womack, an award winning brewer, is a UC Davis
graduate and has been brewing Indian Wells' beers for the last 5
years.
Indian Wells features several
brews: Desert Pale Ale, Manly Bock, Hefe Weizen, English Pub Ale,
Orange Blossom Amber and Mojave Red on a regular basis. The only
beer they bottle is the Mojave Red!
Mojave Red is a slow fermented
lager that takes up to 6-weeks to finish before being filtered and
bottled. This smooth, rich, 3-time gold medal winner is brewed with
a combination of 5 different styles of malts and Yakima Valley hops.
It really is an excellent brew!

Organic
Porter - Butte Creek Brewing Company
|
|
Located in Chico, the Butte
Creek Brewing Co. started brewing in 1996 and produces some very
outstanding brews. The 8,500 sf brewery is built in a remodeled
warehouse just off the tracks and sports a 20 barrel brew house
complimented by four 40bbl fermenters and an 80bbl fermenter.
The three "main guys" at the
brewery are Tom Atmore, Bill Beeghly and brewmaster Roland Allen.
Roland has over nine years under his belt as a commercial brewer
and over 13 years as a serious homebrewer. Butte Creek brews 5 full-time
brews (Gold Ale, Creekside Wheat, Roland's Red, Organic Ale and
Organic Porter) as well as several seasonal flavors.
The Organic Porter is their
way of supporting a rapidly growing awareness of Earth friendly
agriculture. It is brewed with a unique blend of organically grown
malts from certified organic farms. This unfiltered beer has an
excellently balanced taste, a full body, and a crisp finish (5.5%
alc by vol).
This is one of our personal
favorites at BEER On The Wall!
